Background

Our primary objective is to focus on developing software applications for the automotive industry to automate the laborious task of APQP/PPAP documentation, and to provide the solution enablers to realize the benefits of the product quality planning process. Using new technologies such as XML, Web Services, and integrated software development environment, we have completed and launched our core product, QMatrix Planning Console, for the automotive parts suppliers to help in the compilation, organization and management of APQP/PPAP documents. For automotive OEMs, the QMatrix AQPHub is the companion product to receive online submissions of APQP/PPAP documents, manage, and generate aggregated and consolidated reports.

Generate APQP/PPAP documents

Planning Console supports most of the APQP elements which have standard document formats, such as Process Flow Chart, Control Plan, FMEA, Gage R&R, Capability Study, and Tests/Inspections. Customers’ specific PPA Elements are developed as plugin components and can be programmed to generate any specific document format, or aggregate data into compound documents.

Maintain Knowledge Base

Planning Console provides the facility to maintain a knowledge base of design and manufacturing knowledge, such as FMEA modes, effects, causes and etc. This provides an effective tool to capture design, development and manufacturing experiences and performance of the products. And at the same time helps to maintain a nomenclature of standard descriptions in the compilation of APQP/PPAP documents.

Analysis and Reporting

Unlike data stored in word processor or spreadsheet document format, the APQP data in Planning Console are stored in the database making analysis and reporting of design and manufacturing data possible. Planning Console comes with some standard analysis and reporting tools, and additional and customized tools specific to a company’s requirements can be developed as plugin components.
